Citizens Advisory Councils (CACs)

The Citizens Advisory Councils (CACs) are advisory bodies to the Raleigh City Council, which were established to promote citizen participation in city government, to disseminate information to communities and solicit views on matters affecting the well-being of the citizens. CACs receive information and make recommendations to Council on neighborhood quality, existing or new facilities, planning and zoning decisions, citizen involvement through neighborhoods, and other city services or projects.  CAC membership is strictly voluntary.

There are eighteen (18) geographically-located CACs in Raleigh, each responsible for reviewing issues of interest to their own community/neighborhood and relating them to the City Council.
