Celebrating Great Local Art Achievement
The Arts, by their very nature, celebrate who we are - as individuals, as communities, and as a nation. Spanning three decades, the Raleigh Arts Commission has offered numerous opportunities for Raleigh residents to participate and enjoy a wide range of arts activities.
One unique program that the Commission has proudly presented is the Raleigh Medal of Arts. Inaugurated in 1984 by the Arts Commission to establish special recognition for achievement in the arts, the Medal of Arts ceremony has evolved into a lively celebration of artists, arts organizations, and arts supporters who have impacted the life of the city.
