Consultant Hired For Lower Longview Lake Dam Rehab Project

The Raleigh City Council on Tuesday approved an engineering design and construction services contract for the Lower Longview Lake Dam rehabilitation project. The City will hire Schnabel Engineering South, PC to prepare engineering design plans and contract specifications, perform construction management, and manage materials testing. The engineering firm will also provide as-built drawing services for the lake and drainage improvements once the project is constructed. The contract will be for approximately $331,000.

The rehabilitation project is necessary to meet North Carolina dam safety requirements and to improve water quality. The Longview Lake rehabilitation effort is part of the City of Raleigh’s Lake Preservation program.
