Stock up on wide tape, a rope (a nylon tourniquet is suitable), bubble wrap and stretch wrap. All this is in any hypermarket for construction and renovation. They also offer the most suitable container for moving – cardboard boxes, if you cannot agree on a free batch with some nearby groceries store.
Pay attention to the quality of the product: special slots on the sides for easy portability may not be as important as making sure that the box can easily withstand the move.
Also, avoid boxes that are too large: when loaded, they can be heavy even to move, rather than what to wear.

Take another pack or two of capacious plastic garbage bags. Even if you don’t put anything in them, they can come in handy as additional protection against dirt and dust.
